FMC India inaugurated a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plant it donated to the PHC Centre in Chandori district in Nashik, India.
The oxygen plant was inaugurated by Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare of India, Ms. Bharati Pawar in the presence of Mr. Soumitra Purkayastha, Chief Commercial Officer, FMC India, Mr. DK Pandey, Commercial Director, FMC India and Mr. Yogendra Jadon, Sales Director, FMC India. The newly installed PSA oxygen plant is equipped to supply 200 litre per hour of medical oxygen to support patients in the hospital simultaneously.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Soumitra Purkayastha, said, "We are committed to supporting the nation in its fight against the pandemic. The PSA Oxygen plant is a small but a significant step towards supplementing critical healthcare infrastructure, especially in rural areas. We are confident that this initiative will be vital in providing support to patients in need today and in the future." Mr. Purkayastha showcased many initiatives through which FMC is contributing to the empowerment of rural communities as a part of its flagship rural engagement and sustainability program, Project Samarth.
Speaking at the occasion, Ms. Bharati Pawar applauded the efforts of FMC in serving local communities. She said, "We are thankful to FMC India for the donation of the oxygen plant in Chandori district to support us in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Over the years, FMC India has provided water purification systems, which has benefitted farmers not only in Nashik, but also across the country. As we stand united in this fight against the pandemic, I urge everyone to stay safe and celebrate the upcoming festivities by following safety precautions.”
FMC India had committed to procure and donate eight Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants to hospitals in Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. The installation of PSA oxygen plants at these hospitals will enable a continued supply of oxygen, without the challenges of transportation logistics.
FMC India has also launched a multi-faceted campaign aimed at educating local farmers and growers about safety and wellness measures to protect themselves from COVID-19. The awareness campaign has reached about 1.3Mn farmers across leading agricultural states in India.
