Avireo™ Herbicide — The New Super Group for Your Fields

Cereal growers know how tough it can be to control early-season weeds in spring, winter and durum wheat. But as resistance spreads and conditions vary from one field to the next, growers require power, flexibility, and smart chemistry. That’s where Avireo™ herbicide comes in.

Avireo™ herbicide is the first pre-seed herbicide in Western Canada to combine Group 27 (tolpyralate) and Group 14 (carfentrazone-ethyl) actives delivering both fast burnoff and consistent control of the toughest broadleaf weeds. It’s a brand-new “super group” built to give cereal growers stronger starts and greater confidence heading into seeding.

By combining two powerful actives, Groups 27 and 14, Avireo™ herbicide targets weeds in different ways to deliver broad-spectrum control. It takes down tough, resistant species like Group 2, 4 and 9 resistant kochia, Group 2 and 4 cleavers, chickweed, wild buckwheat, and volunteer canola, giving growers a clean start while supporting long-term resistance management.

Why Group 27 matters before seeding

Group 27 herbicides have traditionally been an in-crop tool or paired with bromoxynil pre-seed, but Avireo™ herbicide changes that. Using this combination pre-seed gives growers a new way to layer control and build stronger rotations. Tackling weeds while they’re small improves performance and helps lighten the load on in-crop products later in the year.

From pre-seed to three days post-seeding, Avireo™ herbicide fits seamlessly into prairie operations with its flexible application window and tank-mix compatibility with glyphosate or Authority® 480 herbicide. It’s also rainfast within an hour, performs across all soil zones, and each co-pack treats 80 acres for streamlined handling in the yard or field.
