Take charge of weed control this season with Authority Strike™ herbicide

A good weed control plan isn't just about killing what's there; it's about keeping new weeds from emerging, which is especially important in pulse crops, where early competition can make or break the season.

Authority Strike™ herbicide is built to take on the toughest weeds, providing a one-pass, pre-seed solution with quick burnoff and extended, long-lasting control. It’s perfect for managing stubborn weeds like kochia, cleavers, and wild buckwheat, both at emergence and with later flushes.

Authority Strike™ herbicide makes weed control simple and effective. With two Group 14 active ingredients—carfentrazone-ethyl for burnoff and sulfentrazone for extended soil control—it tackles a wide range of weeds, including:

  • Kochia

  • Cleavers

  • Lamb’s-quarters

  • Pigweed

  • Russian thistle

  • Wild buckwheat

This means fields stay cleaner and longer, getting pulse crops off to a strong start. It's registered for chickpeas, field peas, faba beans, and soybeans, which makes it a great fit for crop rotation plans.  It also has wheat (low rate only), mustard (low rate only) and sunflowers on the label.

Mixing Authority Strike™ herbicide with glyphosate expands its reach and manages both soil-borne and emerged weeds in one application for even more weed-fighting power.

The Right Fit for Unpredictable Spring Conditions

With tight weather windows for spraying, springtime can be hectic. Authority Strike™ herbicide handles those unpredictable conditions. Easy to mix and apply, Authority Strike™ herbicide works fast and keeps working after you're done. It does the job if you tank-mix it with glyphosate or use it alone.

When using Authority Strike™ herbicide alone, use a non-ionic surfactant at 0.25% v/v (0.25 L per 100 L of spray solution) or Merge at 1% v/v (1 L per 100 L of spray solution). An adjuvant is not required when Authority Strike™ herbicide is applied with glyphosate.

Here are a few ways to make sure Authority Strike™ herbicide works its best:

  1. Spray Timing: Apply before seeding or up to three days after.

  1. Rainfall Activation: It needs a minimum of 1/2 inch (13 mm) of rain or irrigation at once to activate the extended control.

  1. Soil Check: Avoid using it on sandy soils or ones with very low organic matter or a pH over 7.8.

  1. Rate: Choose the rate based on your soil and weed situation—40 or 28 acres per jug.

Aim for early pre-plant spraying, if possible, to take advantage of spring rains. But if you're dealing with higher disturbance seeding, a post-seed (up to 3 days after) application works, too.
