Treating Glufosinate-Resistant Waterhemp With Authority® Edge & Authority Supreme Herbicides
Research conducted by the University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University has confirmed the presence of glufosinate-resistant waterhemp in multiple Illinois populations. With this confirmation, waterhemp has evolved resistance to all formerly effective postemergence herbicide modes of action currently available in Illinois corn and soybean production systems. Researchers emphasize there is no evidence these confirmed populations are the only ones of concern. Given the widespread reliance on glufosinate, it is likely additional resistant populations will continue to emerge.
Elevest® Insect Control with Rynaxypyr® Active and Bifenthrin At-Plant Label Expansion for Seedling Pests of Both Field and Sweet Corn
Seedling insect pests of corn cause stand loss and reduce plant vigor, ultimately leading to reduced yield. Scouting for these pests may be minimal early in the season and often go unnoticed until it is too late. These pests are usually out of eyesight, down in the soil feeding on the emerging seedlings. The most effective approach to managing seedling insect pests is at planting through seed treatments or at-plant insecticide treatments, since rescue treatments only stop further damage.
