FMC Corporation, a leading global agricultural sciences company, has received registration from Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD) in Great Britain for Fundatis® herbicide, powered by Isoflex® active. Fundatis® herbicide will be available for use this autumn pre- and peri-emergence in winter wheat and pre-emergence in winter barley. It will come as a ZC formulation containing two active ingredients, Isoflex® active and Beflubutamid, which are new to the market in Great Britain.
“Helping growers to be successful is imperative to the future of farming,” said Sebastia Pons, President FMC EMEA. “We are proud to contribute to this in 2025 with the launch of Fundatis® herbicide.”
The product will provide a significant new tool in growers’ armouries effectively contributing to the control of key annual grass weeds including Meadowgrass (Poa spp), Blackgrass (Alopecurus myosuroides) and Italian Ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). Fundatis® herbicide also boasts one of the largest broadleaf weed spectrums on the label including, Groundsel (Senecio vulgaris) and Speedwell (Veronica spp).
“With its use in both wheat and barley, wide spectrum of broadleaf weed control and good activity against key grassweed species, we believe that Fundatis® herbicide, will be a valuable new addition for cereal growers when used as part of an integrated weed management strategy,” said Gareth Jones Technical Leader, Northern Europe. “Over reliance on a few well-established products, changes to on-farm land management practices and a complex regulatory landscape all mean that weed control challenges are evolving and we are excited to bring a product to market containing a new mode of action for cereals, giving growers the opportunity to diversify their approach and another option when planning their weed control strategies” he concludes.
Fundatis® herbicide has been tested over many seasons in a range of field conditions across Europe and Great Britain. In trials, it has controlled some of the most challenging weed species in winter cereals. Results demonstrate that the combination of Isoflex® active and Beflubutamid can help contribute to a clean field.
“This is a major milestone in FMC’s drive and commitment to bring new and sustainable technologies to agriculture, helping farmers deliver a sustainable and profitable future explains John Hutton, EMEA Commercial Business Director, Northern Europe. We are hugely excited by the registration of Fundatis® herbicide, which reflects the hard work and dedication of so many within the business.”
Fundatis® herbicide, demonstrates the strength of FMC’s robust pipeline and is a testament to the company’s ability to translate grower challenges into innovative solutions that will enhance the productivity and resilience of their crops. The registration in Great Britain marks another significant regulatory approval for FMC.
