Stringbeans

String beans or pole sitao  (Vigna  unquiculatasubsp. Sesquipedales(L.) Verdc.) locally known as sitao is a herbaceous crop with trifoliate leaves and the flowers are in pair. Pods are either purple, green, light green or dark green. Pole sitao is a quick growing plant and upon fruiting, harvesting should be done every other day.

String beans are a good source of protein vitamins like Vitamin A,  thiamin,  riboflavin, folate and minerals like iron,  phosphorous, potassium, magnesium and manganese.
