Corn Leafhopper Control with Steward® EC Insecticide

Corn leafhopper can be an important pest. In large numbers, these pests can cause stress on young corn plants, transmit diseases and lead to significant yield losses. In this Tech Talk, FMC Technical Service Managers Holly Davis and Bruce Steward discuss the importance of targeting corn leafhoppers early and the effectiveness of Steward® EC insecticide on these pests.

The EPA label for Steward EC insecticide contains the following statements: The product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment on blooming crops or weeds. Do not apply this product or allow it to drift to blooming crops or weeds if bees are foraging the treatment area.

This Steward EC insecticide recommendation is made as permitted under FIFRA Section 2(ee) for use of Steward EC insecticide for corn leafhopper in all registered states. This recommendation has not been submitted or approved by the EPA. The 2(ee) expiration date is 12/31/2027 (TX) or 12/31/2029 (all other registered states).
