Nematodes (Rotylenchus spp., Ditylenchus spp., Helicotylenchus spp., Rotylenchus spp.)There are several nematodes associated with pineapple, sugarcane and banana in the Philippines, these nematodes contribute to major losses of the plantation industry.
What are the symptoms
Nematodes usually feed on roots that causes lesions on tissues that affect the transport of water and food of the plant; roots can be easily pulled up from the infected soil.
Above-ground symptoms are chlorosis or necrosis of leaves.
Impact to the crop
Feeding scars can induce fungal infection to the plant; contributes to annual yield loss of about 10-15%.

√ Application of registered and recommended nematicide
