Cabbage worm (Crocidolomia binotalis (L.) ) Lepidopteran pest that is more abundant during dry cool seasons at temperatures of 20-24°C and slows down below 18°C. A single larva can destroy a whole plant by feeding on its growing point
What are the symptoms
Skeletonization or outer leaves and damage of growing point resulting to multiple heads
Feeding damage with fecal matter on developing heads; webbing of leaves.
Impact to the crop
Reported yield loss was 30-50% due to direct feeding and a decrease in quality.
