The release of Overwatch® Herbicide as a pre-emergent option has been welcomed by John Chapman, of Bruce Rock, in the eastern wheatbelt region of Western Australia.



Mr Chapman said some of the older chemistries were not working as well, and they were mixing herbicides to help control their weeds.



“Some of the older ones are just about done,” he said. “Trifluralin may only work 20 to 50 per cent of the time so we needed something to support it.”

The broadleaf weed control from Overwatch® Herbicide in wheat, is helping the subsequent legume phase on the Yorke Peninsula of South Australia.

The ongoing fight to keep ryegrass at bay has led to numerous options being utilised on the property of Clinton Robinson, at Minimay, in Western Victoria.

The ability of Overwatch® Herbicide to control ryegrass, as well as a range of broadleaf weeds, has made it an important tool on the Pilkington properties at Redhill, in the mid-north of South Australia.

Overwatch® Herbicide has been used to control ryegrass and other weeds in barley, canola and faba beans on the property of John Heard, at Tooan, in Western Victoria.

A combination of Overwatch® Herbicide and barley provides Yorke Peninsula growers with an excellent alternative to the current focus of just wheat and lentils.

The ability of Overwatch® Herbicide to control more than just ryegrass has made it a versatile choice on the Walker property, at Quairading, in the wheatbelt region of Western Australia.



Scott Walker said he was particularly happy with Overwatch® in their wheat and canola this season.



“We used it in wheat after a lupin paddock and it did a good job holding back the radish. It sizzled the radish and when we did get back with a post-emergent spray we were targeting less, and they were palm sized radish rather than plate size.”

The versatile Overwatch® Herbicide has been used in multiple crops in the past two seasons on the property of Darren Pilgrim at Bordertown, South Australia.
