Alternative pre-em herbicide essential for Rankin Spring property

The need to find a suitable herbicide to put in the rotation with their current pre-emergent products led Nick Eckermann, of Rankin Springs, in southern New South Wales, to trial Overwatch® Herbicide on large areas last season. Overwatch® Herbicide, from FMC, was in its first year of commercial release and Mr Eckermann said he was keen to try it as an alternative. “Our go-to product has been Treflan#,” he said. “It's been the cornerstone since we started with no till many years ago. It was the only product that was registered and gave us reasonable control.” “In the past five years we have been looking at other products to try and rotate away from the 100% reliance on Treflan#.”
