Further Information

Click to open/close

Thrips are tiny, sap-sucking insects that attack a wide range of crops including chili, shallot, potato, and watermelon. They damage leaves and young shoots by rasping the plant tissue and feeding on cell sap, leading to curled leaves, silvery patches that turn brownish-black, and acting as vectors for plant viruses.
