Take the proactive approach to disease control with highly systemic Topguard® fungicide that protects spring vegetative growth to manage diseases prior to flag leaf. For added protection against yield-robbing weeds such as wild garlic, winter annuals and more than 60 other broadleaf weeds, Harmony® Extra SG herbicide with TotalSol® soluble granules can be tank mixed with Topguard fungicide for a one-pass application, saving you time, labor and the integrity of your crop.

Features and Benefits

  • Convenient tank-mix timing: Manage early spring diseases with Topguard® fungicide and control broadleaf weeds with Harmony® Extra SG herbicide with TotalSol® soluble granules during green up (Feekes 3-7).
  • Combines the benefits of a highly systemic and long-lasting triazole fungicide with a market-leading, broadleaf herbicide with rotational flexibility.
  • Topguard fungicide is upwardly systemic to provide protection of newly emerging wheat tissue after application, suppressing disease and protecting vegetative growth prior to standard flag leaf timing fungicide application.
  • Follow with Topguard or Topguard® EQ fungicide at flag leaf for superior protection and maximum yields. This program approach to managing diseases through the whole growing season is referred to as Topguard fungicide “5 on 5.”

Diseases Controlled: Common rust, stripe rust, powdery mildew and leaf blotch. Leaf rust, powdery mildew, Septoria leaf and glume blotch, stem rust, stripe rust and tan spot.

Henbit, common chickweed, wild garlic, wild buckwheat, mustards, and many other broadleaf weeds.

Application Guidelines:

May be applied via air or ground. Apply in a minimum of 10 gallons of spray solution per acre by ground and a minimum 5 gallons of spray solution by air. For broader weed spectrum, add MCP (amine or ester) at 6-10 fl. oz./A. Use of a non-ionic surfactant @ 1/4-1/2% is recommended to be added to improve weed/disease control.

  • Reliable control of common chickweed, henbit, wild garlic, wild buckwheat, mustards and over 60 other broadleaf weed species.
  • Formulated with TotalSol® soluble granules technology, a patented formulation that dissolves completely, getting more active ingredient on the weeds for faster, better control and leaving less residue in the tank for easier clean-out and faster spray operation.

Research Trials

Research trials have shown that Topguard® fungicide at 5 fl. oz./A applied at green up (Feekes 3-7) and then followed by Topguard fungicide at 5 fl. oz./A applied at flag leaf (Feekes 8-10)1 provides affordable, effective control of important wheat diseases and, ultimately, helps increase yields. This program approach to managing diseases through the whole growing season is referred to as Topguard fungicide“5 on 5.”Diseases such as common and stripe rust, powdery mildew, leaf and glume blotches, and tan spot1 are controlled by this program.

Topguard® Fungicide  "5 on 5” + Harmony® Extra SG Herbicide Program:

Delivers Affordable, Effective Control of Yield-Robbing Diseases and Weeds in Wheat Throughout the Growing Season

Step 1: Apply Topguard® fungicide at 5 fl. oz./A + Harmony® Extra SG herbicide at 0.45-0.9 oz./A at green up1 to provide early-season disease protection and broadleaf weed control. The highly systemic fungicide moves into the new leaves reducing disease pressure and the long-lasting herbicide keeps yield robbing weeds away.

Step 2: Apply Topguard fungicide at 5 fl. oz./A at flag leaf1 to provide late-season disease control and help maximize yields.

If the wheat variety is highly disease susceptible or severe disease pressure exists, then the flag leaf application may need to be Topguard® EQ fungicide at 5-7 fl. oz./A to help maximize disease control and yields.
