Subterranean termites (Coptotermes curvignathus) are highly destructive pests that attack plantation crops such as oil palm. They build mud tunnels and feed on vascular tissues starting from the root system up to the lower trunk and growing point (spear leaf), causing plants to wilt, topple, and eventually die.
