Groundnut

The Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea. L), also known as Peanut or Monkey nut, is a legume crop. Grown for its edible seeds, Groundnut is used for direct consumption, making various cuisines, peanut butter and cooking oil. It is widely grown in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra states in India. Groundnuts are a great blend of healthy fats, protein, fiber and are a good source of potassium, calcium and vitamin B. Groundnut is grown by millions of farmers in 5 to 6 million hectares of land in India today.
