Job Posting: Field Development Summer Intern

Field Development Intern

Contract Duration:  4 months (May 2022 – August 2022)

Location: Saskatoon, SK (Hanley Research Station)

 

This role will assist with the field development and evaluations of FMC crop protection products. As a field development summer intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about the features, benefits and characteristics of FMC products, and gain experience in safe and proper product use. Working closely with the field station managers, you will conduct agronomic operations, including land preparation, seeding, spraying, maintaining and harvesting in order to produce crops used in field experiments. You will accurately measure test substances, evaluate and maintain research plots.

A passion for agriculture is key for this role. Candidates must be enrolled in an Agronomy, Plant Science, or related agricultural degree or diploma program for a minimum of one year. As a self-motivated, enthusiastic, team player, you will play a contributing role in developing relationships with sales representatives, retailers and growers. Your commitment to safety must shine through both on and off the job. Candidates should have the ability to work accurately and quickly, perform physical tasks as required (lifting, bending, field walks). Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
